Job summary

St. Albert Public Schools is seeking a Full Time Floater Caretaker 2 to support cleaning and maintenance across multiple school locations within the division. The role is a probationary, full-time position with hours Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours per day.

Hourly rate is $24.26 per hour under the CUPE Collective Agreement. New employees must submit a Vulnerable Sector/Criminal Record Check prior to start. Benefits are provided under the Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan.

Qualifications

• Entry level knowledge of cleaning equipment operation.
• Ability to lift and handle cleaning equipment.
• Basic knowledge of repair procedures.
• Experience in building cleaning is preferred (up to 6 months).
• WHMIS training would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance in school facilities.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products.
• Assist with basic repairs as needed.
• Work collaboratively with team members to maintain building cleanliness.

St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a Full Time, Probationary, Floater Caretaker 2 for a work assignment at various locations within the division

Hours of Work: 37.50 hrs./week; 7.5 hrs./day Monday-Friday; Full Time, Probationary

Hours will be: Hours for this position will be decided upon by the Assistant Manager of Facilities Services.

Specific Needs/Requirements For This Position

• This work involves routine cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to maintain school buildings and property.
• Entry level knowledge of cleaning equipment operation as well as the chemicals and cleaning products used.
• Ability to lift and handle cleaning equipment and furniture.
• Basic knowledge of repair procedures.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Up to 6 months experience in building cleaning.
• WHMIS training would be an asset.
