Job description

JPS is expanding, and we're searching for an Experienced Finish Dozer Operator to join our dynamic team.

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Operate dozer equipment for finish grading, rough grading, cut to fill, trenching, ditching, sloping, banking, material handling, and stockpiling.
• Follow grade marks on stakes or hand signals.
• Level soil, rock, and debris.
• Understand roadway plans, drawings, and grades.
• Clean tracks regularly.
• Follow instructions and collaborate with team members to complete tasks.
• Perform pre- and post-trip equipment inspections using standardized checklists and conduct basic machine maintenance.
• Work safely, adhering to company safety practices, policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
• Identify hazards and report them to site supervision.
• Report incidents, near misses, and equipment damage.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications and Competencies :

• 3-5 seasons experience with sloping and leveling (finish work).
• 5 seasons as a finish dozer operator.
• Experience on commercial and industrial projects is an asset.
• Gradesman experience is considered an asset.
• Minimum 2 years experience in civil construction as a Dozer Operator.
• Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation.

Additional Information

• This position is eligible for overtime.
• Travel outside of Edmonton may be required.
• Training will be provided for various activities.

All JPS Construction employees must have CSTS2020 Fundamentals, WHMIS, and complete any other orientations deemed necessary, including company and site-specific orientations.
