Responsibilities
As Equipment Operator III (Paving) during Summer:
  • Operate and maintain asphalt paver (screed), tractor, large steel roller, and pneumatic roller
  • Perform other Operator 3 duties and operate additional equipment as required
  • Assist with truck driving, litter control, and general labor when not operating paving equipment
  • Complete daily work sheets and FLRA’s for each task
  • Perform related duties as needed
As Truck Driver III during Winter:
  • Operate tandem or single axle sander/plow trucks for snow and ice control
  • Perform labor duties like snow removal and sanding when not plowing or sanding
  • Conduct detailed pre-trip inspections
  • Perform other related duties as needed
Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade 10
  • At least 2 years of experience operating relevant vehicles and equipment or equivalent training
  • Specific experience with paving equipment for 2 years
  • Knowledge of PARS Operating Procedures and SOPs

  • Work at various city locations, some inaccessible by public transit
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Physical ability to perform duties in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs

  • Up to 1 permanent full-time position
  • Hours of Work:
    • Winter: 80 hours biweekly, rotating 12-hour shifts
    • Summer: 40 hours/week, 24/7 coverage
  • Salary Range:
    • Equipment Operator III: $34.285/hr; $71,587/year
    • Truck Driver III: $32.036/hr; $66,891/year
