Job Description:

The Executive Director, Nutrition and Food Services, is a key provincial senior leader within the Saskatchewan Health Authority, responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for Nutrition and Food Services across the province. Reporting to the Vice President, Provincial Clinical and Support Services, the Executive Director leads an integrated provincial approach focused on quality, safety, consistency and sustainable service delivery.

The role establishes strategic direction and translates provincial priorities into operational and business plans. Key responsibilities include addressing service pressures; optimizing provincial capacity and resources; advancing workforce, infrastructure and service planning; and supporting consistent standards, practices and service expectations across Saskatchewan.

Working closely with clinical and operational leaders, health-care professionals, government, unions, regulatory and educational partners, and other stakeholders, the Executive Director advances innovative and evidence-informed services. The role fosters an inclusive, high-performing culture grounded in the SHA’s CARES values and supports safe, high-quality and patient- and family-centred care.

Human Resources Exemption: No

Education:

• Graduate/ Masters level or equivalent combination of experience and education
• Licensed and in good standing with professional association and/or regulatory body, if applicable.
  

Experience:

• Extensive experience, at a strategic level, as a leader who has developed and led innovative planning and programs in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
• 10+ years in a leadership position with progressive advancement
  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Advanced knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, professional standards and leading practices.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Saskatchewan’s health-care system and the broader Canadian health-care environment.
• Demonstrated ability to translate organizational strategy into operational priorities, measurable plans and sustainable results.
• Strong financial, analytical and critical-thinking skills, including experience managing significant operational resources.
• Proven ability to lead complex change, promote innovation and advance quality, safety and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective partnerships with government, physicians, unions, academic institutions, professional associations and other health-care organizations.
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building and stakeholder-engagement skills.
