Job summary

Dayforce in Toronto is seeking a Senior Director, Risk Officer to lead and evolve the Enterprise Risk Management program, providing independent risk oversight and aligning risk strategy with the bank’s business goals.

You will partner with executive management and the Audit & Risk Committee, report to the President, and drive risk reporting, issue management, and regulatory engagement while building a high‑performing ERM team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Approximately 10+ years of relevant experience in banking, financial services, enterprise risk, operational risk, or a related risk management discipline.
• Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, operating, or improving risk management programs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to translate risk requirements into practical programs and deliverables.
• Ability to provide independent challenge while collaborating effectively across functions and driving initiatives through completion.
• Experience leading employees and communicating risk matters to senior management, Board committees, and/or banking regulators.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation and maturation of the ERM program, including risk identification, assessment, monitoring, issue management, escalation, and reporting.
• Maintain and evolve the Risk Appetite Statement, KRIs, thresholds, and escalation mechanisms, and assess alignment with strategy and risk profile.
• Prepare and present concise risk reporting to the President, management committees, ARC, and Board, including material and emerging risks and remediation status.
• Provide independent risk monitoring while collaborating with leaders to develop practical mitigation strategies and resolve risk issues.
• Conduct or coordinate risk assessments for new products, services, partnerships, and significant initiatives.
• Own ERM work products including policies, risk assessments, GRC capabilities, issue management, risk reporting, and automation/improvements.
• Partner with Compliance, Credit, Finance/Treasury, Technology, Information Security, Operations, Legal, Internal Audit, and others to support ERM.
• Lead ERM engagement with OCC and regulators, including examinations, information requests, supervisory discussions, and remediation.
• Lead and develop the ERM team, including one direct report, with clear priorities and accountability.
