Job summary

Shannex seeks an Executive Chef to lead the culinary team at Parkland on Eglinton West in Etobicoke, Ontario. The role focuses on directing food service delivery, menu development input, and coordinating with Health Services for therapy-matched menus.

Ideal candidates have Journeyman Cook papers, Advanced Food Safety, and 5–7 years in a chef role with at least 2 years in leadership. A Criminal Record Check is required prior to appointment.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Cook papers from an accredited institution.
• Advanced Food Safety certificate.
• Minimum 5-7 years' experience as a chef.
• Minimum of two years in a leadership role in food services.
• Experience in volume food preparation in the hospitality or long-term care sector.
• Clear Criminal Record Check; Vulnerable Sector Check where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Selects, shapes, and develops the culinary team.
• Providing leadership and overseeing provision of food services.
• Providing catering services for internal and external events.
• Providing input into division menu development.
• Liaising with Health Services Team to ensure therapeutic menu modifications as indicated by medical condition.

About The Opportunity

About You

• Journeyman Cook papers from an accredited institution
• Current and recognized Advanced Food Safety certificate
• Minimum 5-7 years' experience as a chef
• Minimum of two years in a leadership role in food services
• Experience in volume food preparation in the hospitality or long-term care sector
• Successful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check , and where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check , prior to appointment.
• Previous management experience is an asset, as well as any other Alzheimer’s or Dementia training courses are considered an asset
