Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking an Excavator Operator to join the Mildred Lake operation, just north of Fort McMurray, AB. You will operate excavators and support equipment to deblock, load, and move sulfur material, while following safety rules and site procedures.

Ideal candidates demonstrate proficiency with gauges, basic math, and clear radio communication with field and office teams. A Class 3 license with air brakes is a plus and overtime may be available.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to operate excavators and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if required.
• Follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills for handling multiple variables.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and heavy equipment to deblock, load, and move sulfur material efficiently.
• Steer, guide, and drive equipment using controls and gauges.
• Communicate via two-way radio with field and office teams on priorities.
• Ensure compliance with laws, policies and safety regulations.
