Job summary

Carmens Group is a Hamilton-born hospitality company operating Carmens Event Centre and several venues. We’re seeking a part-time, permanent position to transform event spaces and support our events team from planning to execution.

Qualifications

• Experience in event operations or a hospitality setting is an asset.
• Strong work ethic and pride in keeping spaces clean, organized, and ready for guests.
• Reliable and efficient when handling event setup, teardown, and room changes.
• Ability to stay composed and proactive when working in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Transform event spaces by arranging furniture and room layouts to match event plans, specifications, and client expectations.
• Move décor, furniture, supplies, and other event materials safely throughout the venue using carts, dollies, and related equipment.
• Arrange tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, and event equipment according to guest numbers and floor plans.
• Support the event team with audiovisual equipment, extension cords, and basic lighting components as required.
• Ensure event spaces and back-of-house areas remain clean, organized, and ready before, during, and after each event.
• Break down event spaces efficiently after functions by removing décor, furniture, staging, and equipment and resetting the venue for what comes next.
