Job summary

TCU Place in Saskatoon, Canada is seeking an Event Services Custodian to support overnight room conversions and facility cleaning for a variety of events. This role focuses on setup and teardown, security duties, and ensuring a presentation of excellence for every event.

Candidates should have a Grade 10 education, at least three months of related setup/teardown experience, and the ability to work with minimal supervision; a current CRC is required upon offer.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and dismantle events including theatre, weddings, banquets, conventions, meetings, trade shows and cabarets.
  • Respond to client requests before and during events
  • Assist with janitorial and general cleaning duties
  • Remove debris and snow from outside grounds, walkways and patio
  • Perform security checks of the building as required
  • Respond to radio calls, cover stage door and assist with shipping/receiving
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

We are currently seeking Event Services Custodians to support overnight room conversions and facility cleaning. This position is essential to ensure a presentation of excellence with each unique event held at TCU Place.

Under the supervision of the Event Services Supervisor, this position performs setup and teardown of building events and assists with the cleaning and security duties.

Typical Duties:

  1. Performs the setup and dismantling of events, including theatre, weddings, banquets, conventions, meetings, trade shows and cabarets.
  2. Responds to client requests before and during events.
  3. Assists with janitorial and general cleaning duties.
  4. Removes debris and snow from outside grounds, including walkways and patio.
  5. Performs security checks of building, as required.
  6. Responds to radio calls, covers the stage door and assists with shipping and receiving, as required.
  7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public and other employees.
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned duties.
  • Ability to operate mechanical equipment.

Security Requirements:

  • Acceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC) upon offer of employment.

Education, Training and Experience Requirements:

  • Grade 10 education.

Hours of Work:

  • Shift work and weekend work is required.

The scheduling of this position is surrounding the needs of our events with shifts primarily starting at midnight and overnight.
