Job description

Description

We are hiring an Events Manager to work with us at the Chances Casino in Prince Rupert, BC. The Events Manager will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all group events, including conferences, trade shows, weddings, corporate events, and more. This newly created role integrates both venues with a unified booking system to host joint events seamlessly, ensuring exceptional experiences for all clients. So the ideal candidate will have exceptional communication and organization skills, the ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environments, and the ability to work independently and multi-task as well as the strong leadership experience needed to manage the events teams and collaborate with related departments. The role is integral to the successful relaunch of the convention centre and will serve as the primary point of contact for group event bookings. Due to the importance of the position, we are looking for someone with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in event coordination, ideally in hospitality, and with extensive experience in the food and beverage industry, catering for large groups. This is a full-time, in-person position with 40 hours of work per week although those hours could be outside of a standard schedule depending on which events are occurring during the week.
