Job summary

PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. in Kelowna, BC, is seeking an Estimating Student for the BC Region. This 4-12 month internship starts January 2027 and reports to an Estimator.

You will gain hands-on experience with quantity surveying, bid preparation, and site visits while developing relationships with subcontractors. Your work will support estimating processes, using PCL manuals and forms, and you will contribute to timely, accurate pricing and bid packages for construction projects in British

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply PCL's estimating manuals, systems and forms.
• Review quantity survey assignments with the lead estimator or Chief Estimator.
• Perform assigned quantity surveying tasks and prepare quantities of major purchase items for pricing.
• Transfer quantities to the lead estimator and support bid document control.
• Assist with bid day assignments and visit job sites periodically.
• Develop relationships with subcontractors and coordinate with internal teams.
• Support the estimator in preparing bid summaries and pricing packages.
• Contribute to overall accuracy and quality of estimating deliverables.

We are seeking anEstimating Studentfor ourBC Region - Kelowna Office, within our Canadian Buildings Division that are available for4-12 months starting in January 2027. This position will be under the direct supervisor of an Estimator.

Pay Range: $22.26-$27.30

PCL Student wages are determined individually for each student based on the number of completed school terms, relevant work terms, kind of role and work location.
