Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. in Ottawa is seeking an Estimating Student for the Ottawa district in the Canadian Buildings sector for a 4‑month assignment starting January 2027.

You will assist with tender documents, contact trade contractors, and build unit-pricing while learning local market conditions. Applicants should be pursuing a degree or diploma in civil engineering or architectural technology and have a passion for construction.

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree or diploma in a civil engineering or architectural technology related field.
• Ability to perform quantity take-offs.
• Ability to perform unit pricing.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• A passion for working in a construction environment.
• Knowledge of conceptual estimating.
• Knowledge of contract arrangements such as Lump Sum, Design Build, Project Management, Construction Management, and Public/Private Partnership
• Strong computer skills, including experience with spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

The estimated salary range for this role is$21.25 to $30.00,based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
