Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. is seeking an Estimating Student for our Solar District in Oakville, Ontario. This 4–16 month role starts January 2027 and offers hands-on experience on real projects with mentorship and growth opportunities.

You will learn estimating processes, work on quantity surveys, and contribute to bidding and subcontractor coordination while building your construction career with competitive weekly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong desire to work in a construction environment.
• Prior field construction experience is an asset.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and drafting software.

Responsibilities

• Understands and utilizes PCL’s estimating manuals, systems and forms.
• Reviews quantity survey assignments with lead estimator or Chief Estimator.
• Performs assigned quantity survey.
• Gives quantities of major purchase items to purchasing department for pricing.
• Performs bid day assignments.
• Develops relationships with subcontractors.
• Other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator.

As anEstimating Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

The estimated hourly range for this role is $21.37- $31.34, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
