Job summary

Henry Schein Canada is hiring an Equipment Service Technician to support dental practitioners and practices in the Victoria, BC region. You will be the primary contact for service needs, service equipment, and assist with installations and diagnostics.

The role requires a hands-on, customer-focused approach, with a willingness to learn about vendor equipment and products. A valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the Victoria area are expected.

Qualifications

• Strong customer relationships and providing great service.
• Natural tinkerer with passion for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment.
• Understanding and working with machinery and equipment is your strength.
• Good time management, organization, and ability to work under pressure.
• An education in mechanical or electrical technology is an asset.
• Experience is preferred but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the point of contact for clients and address service needs.
• Foster new client connections and promote new services.
• Understand equipment deeply to enable repairs and diagnostics.
• Service equipment, support installations, run diagnostics, and perform repairs.
• Stay updated with vendor equipment and machinery.
• Handle administrative duties including work orders, billings, and inventory.
• Physically capable of heavy lifting as required.

THE POSITION

• People person. You will be the point of contact for clients, providing them with any required service needs
• Taking initiative. You will foster new client connections, promoting new business and services within the industry
• Naturally curious. You like to understand how even the smallest of parts of equipment run so you can easily repair
• Technically inclined. You will service equipment; support installations, run equipment diagnostics, and perform repairs as required
• Driven to learn. You will keep up to date with vendor equipment and machinery
• Keeping things tidy. Administrative duties will need to be managed including work orders, billings and maintenance of parts/tool inventory
• Hands-on. The position requires someone who is comfortable with heavy lifting of equipment and machinery

The Qualifications

You are someone who understands the value of strong customer relationships, and you know how to provide a client with great service. You are natural born tinkerer who has a passion for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment. Understanding and working with machinery and equipment is your strong suit. You have great time management skills, organizational skills, and work well under pressure. An education in mechanical or electrical technology is an asset. Experience is preferred but not a requirement, we are looking for someone driven by the challenges and opportunities offered by the role.

This position is based in our Victoria Territory and surrounding area. This role requires a valid driver’s license as you will be supporting client locations throughout this region.

Your favourite words are diagnostics, repair, installation, hydraulics, pneumatics, troubleshoot, mechanical, electronics.

The posted range for this position is $65,000- $80,000, which is the expected salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role.

Many factors go into determining pay within the posted range including education, prior experience, training, skills, certifications, location/labour market, internal equity, etc.
