Position: Environmental Technician

Your Next Challenge:

Reporting to the Environmental Coordinator, you will be part of the Environment Department. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Leading all fieldwork initiatives, including sampling, inventory, QA/QC, chains of custody, monitoring, and inspections;
  2. Using and maintaining equipment such as handheld monitors and loggers, including calibration;
  3. Conducting environmental monitoring according to statutory requirements of Environmental Management Plans (EMP), Environmental Compliance Approvals (ECAs), and other regulations;
  4. Assisting in preparing regulatory reports on environmental performance;
  5. Maintaining monitoring and sampling schedules to meet regulatory and business commitments;
  6. Managing databases and reporting data to statutory bodies;
  7. Providing environmental advice and notifications to site supervisors and managers;
  8. Liaising with the community and key stakeholders;
  9. Supporting the team and assisting with additional tasks as needed;
  10. Performing all other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Relevant education in Environmental studies (College Diploma or University Degree);
  • Previous relevant experience in the environmental field;
  • Ability to work in inclement conditions with minimal supervision;
  • Valid Driver's License;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Work Schedule:

4/3 schedule at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON.
