Job summary

Tappwfs Environmental is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to lead field programs, regulatory reporting, and client-facing project management across Ontario. You will coordinate field activities, manage documentation, and ensure outcomes with ownership.

You will work with geotechnical, materials, and environmental specialists on diverse Ontario projects, with a clear path to grow into senior PM responsibilities as the practice expands.

Qualifications

• University degree in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, or environmental engineering.
• P.Eng. designation or eligibility is required.
• Two to five+ years of relevant environmental experience.
• Eligibility to obtain federal security clearance.
• Valid driver's license, vehicle, and insurance.
• Strong technical writing and report production skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field programs, including scheduling drill rigs, excavators, technicians, laboratories, and subcontractors.
• Secure permits, locates, and access permissions ahead of field work.
• Prepare Soil Characterization Reports, Sampling and Analysis Plans, and related documents.
• Act as the technical liaison between field staff, engineers, laboratories, and client representatives.
• Track project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to keep projects on time and on budget.
• Support proposal development, cost estimating, and technical scope definition.
• Monitor project progress and flag schedule, cost, or scope risks before they become problems.
• Manage report production, including data inputs and laboratory chain of custody documentation.
• Review soil and groundwater data and contribute to environmental report drafting.
• Oversee project invoicing and aging summaries to keep cash flow healthy.

What We're Looking For

• A university degree in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, or environmental engineering, along with a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
• Two to five or more years of relevant environmental experience
• Eligibility to obtain federal security clearance
• A valid driver's license, insurance, and access to a personal vehicle
• Strong technical writing skills and the ability to produce clear, high-quality reports
• Comfort managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines, with the judgment to work independently and as part of a team
• A Geoscientist (P.Geo.) designation is considered an asset

Compensation & Work Model

This role offers a salary range of $90,000 to $130,000 CAD, commensurate with experience. This is a permanent, full-time, onsite position based out of the Toronto, Ottawa, or Barrie office, with regular travel to project sites.

Location & Travel

Based in Toronto, Ottawa, or Barrie, Ontario. Periodic travel to project sites is required, including occasional overnight stays and work outside regular business hours.
