Job description

You will move between field coordination, technical documentation, and client-facing project management, with real ownership over outcomes.

You will work alongside geotechnical, materials, and environmental specialists on projects that shape communities across the province.

If you have spent the last few years building your environmental career and are ready to take on more ownership, this is worth a real look. This role sits at the center of a busy environmental practice, coordinating field programs, managing regulatory documentation, and acting as the connective tissue between field staff, engineers, laboratories, and clients. It is a role built for someone who wants breadth: proposal work, project controls, technical review, and financial oversight, not just one narrow lane.

The firm behind this opportunity is growing quickly and is investing in its environmental practice specifically. That means exposure to a wide variety of projects across Ontario, a multidisciplinary team to learn from, and a genuine path to grow your scope and responsibility over time.

Why This Opportunity Is Different

Most environmental coordination roles keep you in one lane. This one does not. You will have direct exposure to proposal development and cost estimating, not just execution, and you will work in a multidisciplinary environment alongside geotechnical and materials engineers rather than in an environmental silo. Because the firm is expanding, there is real room to grow into more senior project management responsibility as the practice scales.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Coordinating field programs, including scheduling drill rigs, excavators, technicians, laboratories, and subcontractors
  • Securing permits, locates, and access permissions ahead of field work
  • Preparing and supporting excess soil documentation, including Soil Characterization Reports, Sampling and Analysis Plans, Excess Soil Destination Assessment Reports, and Soil Management Plans
  • Acting as the technical liaison between field staff, engineers, laboratories, and client representatives
  • Tracking project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to keep projects on time and on budget
  • Supporting proposal development, cost estimating, and technical scope definition
  • Monitoring project progress and flagging schedule, cost, or scope risks before they become problems
  • Managing report production, including data inputs, laboratory chain of custody documentation, and submission timelines
  • Reviewing soil and groundwater data and contributing to environmental report drafting
  • Overseeing project invoicing and aging summaries to keep cash flow healthy
What We're Looking For
  • A university degree in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, or environmental engineering, along with a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
  • Two to five or more years of relevant environmental experience
  • Eligibility to obtain federal security clearance
  • A valid driver's license, insurance, and access to a personal vehicle
  • Strong technical writing skills and the ability to produce clear, high-quality reports
  • Comfort managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines, with the judgment to work independently and as part of a team
  • A Geoscientist (P.Geo.) designation is considered an asset
