Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Environmental Planner - Airport Project to join our team. This position is based on-site in Mississauga.

We aim to build one of the most advanced, sustainable, and passenger-friendly airports globally.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead environmental reviews of Facility Alteration Permits (FAP) in collaboration with Environmental Services to ensure compliance with environmental standards and requirements.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to identify, assess, and manage environmental risks.
  • Coordinate with GTAA Environmental Services and relevant regulatory agencies on environmental plans, staying informed on evolving regulations impacting the Pearson LIFT program.
  • Monitor and report on environmental aspects and mitigation measures, providing management-level insights and strategic recommendations.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • University Degree in environmental sciences, engineering, or related field + 2 years of professional experience in environmental planning within construction or development sectors. Equivalent experience and education may be considered.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with large, complex infrastructure programs.
  • Proven experience in monitoring, tracking, and delivering environmental components in infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with federal and provincial environmental regulations such as the Impact Assessment Act (IAA), Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA), and Fisheries Act.
  • Experience managing and reporting on contaminated sites.
  • Strong technical skills across all project phases, with data analytics and technical report writing capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field; professional designation (e.g., Qualified Person - QP) is an asset.
