Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner – Airport Project to join our team. This on-site position is based in Mississauga. We aim to help build one of the most advanced, sustainable, and passenger-friendly airports in the world.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Manage the environmental review process for Facility Alteration Permits (FAP) ensuring compliance with environmental standards and regulations.
2. Provide expert guidance on environmental permitting, compliance, and regulatory obligations.
3. Integrate environmental requirements into program planning and design strategies.
4. Advise project teams on environmental strategies, data inputs, impact analysis, and risk mitigation.
5. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify and address environmental risks proactively.
6. Coordinate with Environmental Services to consult with regulatory agencies and monitor regulations for compliance.
7. Partner with Program Delivery and Technical Shared Services teams to review and validate environmental components across projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• University Degree in Environmental Sciences/Studies, Engineering, or related field + 6 years of relevant experience in environmental planning within construction/development.

Preferred Requirements:

• Professional qualification (QP designation) is an asset.
• Typically 10+ years of experience in environmental planning, with at least 5 years in monitoring and delivering environmental components in infrastructure projects.
• Experience working with federal and provincial environmental agencies and knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., IAA, CEPA, Fisheries Act).
• Experience managing contaminated sites and preparing technical reports.
• Ability to coordinate small teams of technical specialists and engineers.
