Job summary

Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a part-time housekeeping cleaner to maintain cleanliness at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. Tasks include high dusting, damp dusting, mopping, floor stripping and refinishing, as well as carpet cleaning and waste handling. Training provided; one year of experience preferred.

Requirements include Grade 12 or equivalent, ability to lift and climb, and strong English communication. This is an in-person role with shifts during days and weekends.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of applicable sanitation and safety standards.
• Observe all aspects of resident safety at all times.
• Ability to learn proper body mechanics and use of equipment.
• Able to climb stepladders and reach spaces.
• Maintain high standard of service and cleanliness.

Position Overview

This position is changed with the cleanliness of the facility and includes high dusting, damp dusting, dust mopping, wet and dry mopping, vacuuming and carpet cleaning, floor stripping and refinishing, waste handling.

Experience

• Minimum of one-year experience as a housekeeping cleaner in an institutional, commercial or healthcare facility will be considered. Training will be provided.

Physical Requirements

• Performing physical activities that require considerate use of arms and legs and moving of body, such as bending, lifting, balancing, walking and stooping.
