About the job:
What you’ll do
  1. Provide procurement and contract administration support by preparing and processing contracts, work orders, material requests, contract changes, and following up with vendors. Maintain accurate records and track vendor performance, reporting KPIs to management. Monitor contract status and recommend changes. Review and process invoices and contract requests, coordinating with Finance for monthly accruals. Act as the initial contact for Environment staff/vendors and resolve issues escalated to the Environmental Contracts Administrator (ECA) 2.
  2. Guide and train Environment staff and vendors on administrative, procurement, contract, and invoicing processes to ensure policy compliance. Communicate updates on processes and procedures.
  3. Respond to procurement, contract, and invoicing inquiries from staff and vendors, referring complex issues to appropriate departments.
  4. Provide administrative support, including scheduling, reviewing purchases, expense claims, onboarding/offboarding, and maintaining office supplies.
  5. Assist management with metrics tracking, report generation, and dashboard updates.
  6. Perform minor duties related to the above that do not affect the job's rating.
What you bring
  1. High School diploma and one year of contract and office administrative experience.
  2. Post-secondary courses or experience in contract administration is an asset.
  3. In-house training or the ability to complete training in BC Hydro systems (SAP, supply chain management system) within one month.

Additional information

This position is unionized (MoveUP/COPE), full-time temporary for approximately 11 months, based at Edmonds office, Burnaby, BC.

Applicants may be required to take a written assessment. Skills include proficiency in office administration, procurement, contract management, Microsoft Office, SAP, and problem-solving. Ability to work independently and in teams, with good communication and organizational skills. Some travel and physical lifting may be required.
