Job description

Massanutten Military Academy is seeking an Entry Level Translator to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong command of at least two languages, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently. This role is part-time/full-time and remote, suitable for a freelance translator. The Translator will be responsible for translating documents and communications between English and one or more of the following languages: Spanish, Portuguese, French, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Italian. Additionally, the Translator will proofread and edit translations as needed. Military background is an added advantage, as experience in this area is valuable for our military school.

Responsibilities

• Translate various documents from one language to another, maintaining content, context, and tone.
• Proofread and edit translated materials for accuracy, completeness, and fluency.
• Research industry-specific terminology and translate technical documents as needed.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines while ensuring high-quality output.
• Communicate with students to clarify project requirements and ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of professional experience as a translator or interpreter.
• Fluency in at least two languages, including English.

Additional Information

Salary: $35-$55 per hour
