Job summary

The Assistant F&B Operations Manager at Montreal Airport is an entry-level management position responsible for day-to-day supervision of non-management associates, assigning work, and helping drive store-level performance. This role is non-exempt and reports to the F&B Multi Operations Manager or designee.

Responsibilities include coaching Shift Supervisors, training staff, enforcing brand standards and safety requirements, coordinating schedules, and supporting hiring and performance feedback

Qualifications

• Up to 1 year of related experience in food & beverage or merchandise operations.
• Ability to supervise and multi-task effectively.
• Knowledge of HMSHost policies and standards.
• Ability to read, comprehend instructions and policy documents.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the day-to-day activities of multiple non-exempt associates within a defined group of restaurants or stores.
• Assigns work tasks and creates schedules to ensure all shifts are covered.
• Prepares daily orders and coaches on order procedures to ensure proper stocking.
• Conducts on-the-job training to ensure basic skills for performance.
• Maintains awareness of brand standards, CBAs, leases, and procedures to maximize operations.
• Ensures compliance with sanitary, safety and health standards and company policies.
• Uses judgment to resolve routine questions and refers complex issues to higher levels.
• Monitors progress towards unit goals and assigns staff accordingly.
• Provides input on hiring, advancement, or changes in associate status.
• Offers coaching and feedback to align individual development with business goals.
• Develops plans to motivate and recognize staff performance.
