Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for an Enterprise Payroll Manager to join our Group Finance team.

In this role, you will oversee GHD’s payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for approximately 12,000 employees. Your focus will be on implementing best practices, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvements in payroll systems and processes.

Location and Work Model

The role can be based in any GHD office throughout Canada, the U.S. (west coast preferred), Australia, or New Zealand. GHD supports a hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead a geographically dispersed Payroll team.
  • Mentor and empower team members to deliver solutions, customer service, and advice.
  • Lead end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring compliance and accurate pay calculations.
  • Review payroll processes and integrations, identify trends and gaps, and recommend improvements.
  • Partner with HR, IS, and Finance teams to ensure seamless data integration and system functionality.
  • Provide expertise for payroll BAU operations and projects.
  • Develop internal controls and conduct payroll audits to ensure compliance.
  • Assess impacts of changes, monitor outcomes, and update processes accordingly.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and support team workflow and projects.
  • Manage workload and resources within the enterprise.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or Payroll Administration; APA or TAPS membership preferred.
  • Proven experience managing payroll in a large, dispersed organization.
  • Experience with payroll/HRIS systems like ADP, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Track record of process improvement and project management.
