Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. is seeking an Engineering Student for our Toronto District, working from Sudbury, ON, for 4 or 8 months starting January 2027. You will assist with drawings, schedule updates, and coordination of sub-trades on active projects.

Ideal candidates have an interest in construction, basic drafting/ scheduling software experience, and a willingness to learn in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

  • Interest in a construction environment and field experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CAD, scheduling software and drafting.
  • Ability to use common office software (word processing, spreadsheets).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate drawings, scope/trades, and reviews of quantities, hours, rates.
  • Participate in project meetings and update deficiency logs.
  • Update field drawings, take progress photos, and produce as-built drawings.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and supervise sub-trade work.
  • Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings; maintain records.
  • Layout site lines with total station; assist with scheduling in Primavera and AutoCAD.

Engineering Student

We are seeking an Engineering Student for our Toronto District to work from Sudbury ON within our Canadian Buildings Division that are available for 4 or 8 months starting January 2027.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinating drawings, work specific scope / trades, trade quote reviews – verify material quantities, verify hours, verify rates, deficiency walks etc
  • Participating in project meetings,
  • Inputting / Updating deficiency logs and issuing warranties
  • Taking / Coordinating progress photos, and updating field drawings
  • Producing as-built drawings
  • Performing quantity takeoffs, coordinating and supervising sub-trade work and
  • Verifying site conditions and coordinating with drawings
  • Setting-up / Maintaining record keeping
  • Layout site lines and grades using total station
  • Creating manual schedules, updating schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software, maintaining graphical scheduling using AutoCAD.
  • Obtaining scheduling information from sub-trades and updating project schedules
  • Monitoring workforce productivity
Qualifications
  • Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
  • Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

The estimated hourly range for this role is $21.37- $31.33, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
