Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. is seeking Engineering Students for our Toronto District operations based in St. Johns Newfoundland, available for 4 or 8 months starting January 2027. You will contribute to the team by coordinating drawings, reviewing trades, and assisting with field drawings and as-built documentation.

You will participate in meetings, update logs, and help with quantity takeoffs and scheduling with sub-trades, gaining hands-on construction experience in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Interest in construction environments and field experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software required.
• Familiarity with drafting software is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drawings, review scope/trades, verify material quantities and hours.
• Participate in project meetings and update deficiency logs.
• Take and coordinate progress photos, update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with scheduling information from sub-trades.

We are seekingEngineering Students, for our Toronto District operations based inSt. Johns Newfoundland,within our Canadian Buildings Division that are available for4 or 8 months starting January 2027.

As anEngineering Studentand depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

Responsibilities

• Coordinating drawings,work specific scope / trades,trade quote reviews – verify material quantities, verify hours, verify rates, deficiency walks etc
• Participating in project meetings,
• Inputting / Updating deficiency logs and issuing warranties
• Taking / Coordinating progress photos, and updating field drawings
• Producing as-built drawings
• Performing quantity takeoffs, coordinatingand supervising sub-trade work and
• Verifying site conditions and coordinating with drawings
• Layout site lines and grades using total station
• Obtaining scheduling information from sub-trades and updating project schedules

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

The estimated hourly range for this role is $21.37- $31.33, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
