Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. seeks Engineering Students for a 4 or 8 month placement in our Toronto District operations, based in St. John’s Newfoundland.

The program starts January 2027 and offers challenging work assignments within a supportive environment that promotes growth. You will gain hands-on experience coordinating drawings and schedules, updating deficiency logs, and producing as-built drawings, while using Primavera P6 and AutoCAD on real construction projects.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment.
• Experience with word processing and spreadsheet applications and drafting software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drawings, work scope/trades, verify material quantities and rates.
• Participate in project meetings and update logs.
• Produce as-built drawings and monitor schedules in Primavera/AutoCAD.
• Supervise sub-trade work and verify site conditions.

We are seeking Engineering Students, for our Toronto District operations based in St. Johns Newfoundland, within our Canadian Buildings Division that are available for 4 or 8 months starting January 2027.

Responsibilities
As an Engineering Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

• Coordinating drawings, work specific scope / trades, trade quote reviews – verify material quantities, verify hours, verify rates, deficiency walks etc
• Participating in project meetings,
• Inputting / Updating deficiency logs and issuing warranties
• Taking / Coordinating progress photos, and updating field drawings
• Producing as-built drawings
• Performing quantity takeoffs, coordinating and supervising sub-trade work and
• Verifying site conditions and coordinating with drawings
• Setting-up / Maintaining record keeping
• Layout site lines and grades using total station
• Creating manual schedules, updating schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software, maintaining graphical scheduling using AutoCAD.
• Obtaining scheduling information from sub-trades and updating project schedules
• Monitoring workforce productivity

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

The estimated hourly range for this role is $21.37- $31.33, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
