Job summary

City of Burnaby is seeking an Engineering Customer Experience Representative to handle a variety of Engineering applications and permits, engaging with the public at the counter and via calls and emails. You will use software to enter data, manage payments, and support service efficiency in the Engineering – Administration unit.

The role requires completion of Grade 12 with related coursework or equivalent office experience, plus knowledge of engineering policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 with related courses or equivalent experience.
• Significant office experience with public contact and computerized systems.
• Knowledge of engineering or construction policies, bylaws and procedures.
• Ability to handle high inquiry volumes and maintain records accurately.
• Proficiency with databases, spreadsheets and word processing tools.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process engineering applications and permits across multiple areas.
• Serve customers at the counter and respond to calls and emails with information and guidance.
• Enter, update and retrieve data; manage payments and refunds; file and file systems.
• Prepare routine correspondence and review plans, permits and inspections for accuracy.
• Create service requests from external or internal inquiries and perform site plan reviews.
