Job summary

The City of Burnaby is seeking an Engineering – Administration customer experience representative to process permits and applications across sewer, water, design, environment, traffic and inspection. You will interact with the public at the counter and via calls and emails, provide information on bylaws and procedures, and assist with payments and filing duties.

This temporary full-time role runs until June 11, 2027, in an online and on-site municipal setting.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 completion with related office coursework or experience.
• Experience handling public inquiries and computerized systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced municipal office and maintain filing systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process Engineering applications and permits.
• Serve customers at the counter and respond to calls and emails.
• Provide information and directions regarding Engineering operations and bylaws.
• Process and review payments, refunds and charges for accuracy.
• Create service requests for inquiries via multiple platforms.
• Maintain and update filing systems; support process improvements.
