Job summary

The City of Richmond, BC is seeking a Recreation Programs Coordinator to organize and deliver a variety of community recreation activities and events, with initial duties at the South Arm Community Centre.

This role involves coordinating staff and volunteers, marketing initiatives, assisting with rentals, managing records and budgets, and providing excellent customer service to internal and external contacts.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in community recreation or related field.
• At least 1 year post-secondary coursework related to recreation.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Organize and deliver a variety of recreation activities and community events.
• Market and promote recreation activities and community events.
• Develop, plan and implement community events.
• Research trends related to recreation and events.
• Provide customer service to internal and external contacts.
• Assist with rental and facility bookings.
• Provide direction to staff and volunteers by allocating tasks.
• Provide administrative support and first aid as required.
• Assist senior staff as required.
