Job summary

OneSky Community Resources seeks a Family Navigator to assist families with children 6 years or younger who have health or developmental needs. The role includes navigating systems, linking to services, and supporting families in home, community, or early years centre settings.

Frameworks used include strengths-based, family-centered, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approaches. The position is permanent?

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent, two years recent related experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Familiarity with the Child, Family and Community Services Act.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous history and culture.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (with CPR).
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's license, reliable vehicle and clean driver’s abstract.
  • Signed Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Adherence to OneSky policies and procedures, program operations manual and commitment to Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Help families access resources and supports to meet children’s health and development needs.
  • Use solution-focused approaches to manage family situations and support parenting and safety.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive environment and engage families in the program.
  • Document information and coordinate with community organizations and service providers.
  • Attend team meetings, case conferences and agency initiatives.
