Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a Part-time Personal Support Worker to provide personal care to residents in our Canadian long-term care setting. You will follow the supervisor's plan of care, assist with daily living activities, meals, transfers, and mobility, while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

You must be a graduate of a PSW program with 600 hours (Ontario/Alberta), possess current Basic Life Support and First Aid, and be able to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Qualifications

• PSW program with 600 hours (Ontario/Alberta) required.
• Experience with seniors in community health settings.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Organizational and time-management abilities.
• Current Basic Life Support and First Aid certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check with Criminal Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to care plan as determined by supervisor.
• Assist with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes to supervisor.
• Ensure resident safety and observe environment.
• Assist with meals and mobility transfers.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Attend in-services to develop knowledge and skills.
