If so, the City of Langford invites you to apply to be an Emergency Program Manager with Langford Fire Rescue!Under the Fire Chief, the Emergency Program Manager is responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining the City of Langford Emergency Program that advances the preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery elements of emergency management in compliance with provincial mandates. As an Emergency Program Manager, you will work with and supervise employees and volunteers to coordinate and implement Emergency Program activities and effectively in provide essential services to evacuees and responders affected by an emergency or disaster. You will also create policies and procedures related to emergency response framework and maintain relationships with external partners in the public, private, and non-profit sectors.Qualifications for this position include: Post-secondary degree in Emergency Management or a related discipline, and five (5) years? progressively responsible leadership experience in the field of Emergency Management (or an equivalent combination) A master?s degree in Emergency Management or related, is preferred Incident Command System (ICS) 300 Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Essentials Experience delivering emergency response and emergency management services Experience in communicating goals, policies, and training material to diverse groups Extensive knowledge of emergency management information systems, communication tools, audio/visual and related technology Ability to work after-hours in response to emergencies, including EOC and DOC activations Satisfactory Police Information Check & Valid Class 5 BC drivers? license Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels in the organization, external clients, and business contacts, including the ability to manage and resolve conflictsThe salary range for this regular full-time position is $60.23 to $70.86 per hour (2025 rates), plus an excellent benefits package including one of Canada?s top pension plans.
