Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Telecommunications Officer/Dispatcher to monitor radio activity, handle security-related calls and document Protective Services officers’ actions. The role involves using database systems, coordinating officer assignments and ensuring timely information sharing with field teams at Alberta Hospital Edmonton.

The position supports Protective Services Op Support with a regular FT schedule, covering days, evenings, nights and weekends, structured around a 12-hour

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 and a certificate/diploma related to Emergency Communications and Response, Law Enforcement, Security or Criminology.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a customer service environment.
  • High level of experience with Microsoft Office and email; strong telephone skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor radio activity and receive calls for security requests, documenting officer activities accurately.
  • Work with information databases and coordinate administrative assignments for Protective Services officers.
  • Maintain awareness of field activities and provide immediate link to emergency and non-emergency assistance on behalf of Protective Services Officers.
