Job summary

Regional Emergency Services, Integrated Emergency Response in Fort McMurray seeks a Dispatcher to operate the 911 network, receive and evaluate calls, and coordinate Fire, Police and EMS.

Under the direction of the Dispatch Supervisor, you will enter data into the CAD system, follow IAED protocols, provide post-dispatch instructions, and maintain records. This is a permanent full-time role with shift work and benefits.

Qualifications

• EMD Certification is required.
• EFD Certification is required.
• Incident Command Course (internal).
• Current Standard First Aid Level and level C CPR certification.
• Criminal record check completed.

Responsibilities

• Receive, evaluate, respond or transfer 911 calls.
• Enter caller information into CAD per IAED protocols.
• Provide actions to take while awaiting responders.
• Provide post-dispatch instructions.
• Dispatch Fire and EMS units and communicate with RES units.
• Maintain 911 response records in department systems.
• Support the department's Vision, Mission, and values.
• Report major events to shift and chief officers.
