Job summary

The City of Red Deer Municipal Government is seeking a Casual Police Communications Operator to handle non-emergency calls and manage police databases. The role supports RCMP and Municipal Enforcement with accurate triage and information flow.

Ideal candidates will have Grade 12, at least 3 years in police communications or emergency communications, and the ability to pass RCMP security clearances and operate on a scheduled shift including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• 50 wpm typing speed required.
• Experience in police communications or emergency communications is preferred.
• Must pass RCMP security clearance before employment.

Responsibilities

• Answer non-emergency and administrative calls for RCMP detachment and Municipal Enforcement.
• Maintain police databases and related software; create, audit, and retrieve records.
• Triages service requests, prioritizes calls, and supports officers with accurate information.
