Job summary

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Partnership (MLSE) is hiring a Host to manage reservations, seat guests, and ensure a seamless dining flow at our venues in Toronto. You will collaborate with managers to optimize seating and guest satisfaction in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate will have Smart Serve certification, experience in high-volume venues, and strong communication skills. Flexibility for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Smart Serve certification is required.
• Experience in a high-volume restaurant or club environment is preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Proficiency with reservation systems like SevenRooms or similar platforms.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to multitask.
• Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage reservations, seat guests, and maintain flow of dining area to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Assist with operational tasks to support service excellence and smooth restaurant operations.
• Warmly greet guests on arrival and present a professional first impression.
• Ensure menus and materials are clean and ready for service before each shift.
• Manage in-person reservations through SevenRooms.
• Collaborate with the Manager to organize seating plans based on guest preferences and availability.
• Seat guests efficiently according to seating plan to maximize dining room capacity.
• Communicate special requests or dietary needs to ensure seamless coordination.
• Oversee guest waitlists with accurate wait time estimates and updates.
• Assist with table resetting and prep to support peak times.
• Provide support to Bussers, Servers, Bartenders, and Managers as needed.
