Job summary

CDN is a recognized energy services leader seeking Journeyperson or Apprentice Electricians (3rd & 4th Year) for projects in Fort St John, BC, with flexible location from other areas. Roles involve on-site electrical installation, system maintenance, and project support across oil and gas environments.

Candidates must hold an indentured apprenticeship or Red Seal, valid Class 5 license, and safety certifications (H2S, First Aid, OSSA Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, CSO, CSTS).

Qualifications

• Identified as Journeyperson Electrician or Apprentice in the Electrical field.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety policies.
• Complete cutting, threading, bending, and assembling rigid, aluminum and conduit systems.
• Install and maintain EMT and PVC piping systems and ancillary electrical equipment.
• Interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications for installation and troubleshooting.
• Understand and apply the Canadian electrical code rules.
• Test electrical equipment for current, voltage, and resistance.
• Manage project-related QA/QC documentation and materials.

• Role: Journeyperson and Apprentice Electricians (3rd & 4th Year)
• Location: Fort St John, BC preferred. Applicants from other locations are welcome to apply
• Shift: Varies based on project
• Overtime: Project based
• Pre-Employment Condition: Pre-employment D&A test required

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all company environmental, heath, and safety policies and procedures.
• Complete cutting, threading, bending, and assembling rigid, aluminum and conduit systems.
• Install and maintain EMT and PVC piping systems, batteries, solar panels, voltage regulators, MCC equipment, heat trace, and VFD’s.
• Assist and/or direct interpreting drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to better help execute electrical installation and troubleshooting.
• Understand and inter-operate the most current Canadian electrical code book and exercise the rules when applicable.
• Understand and execute basic circuit fundamentals, alternating current circuit properties, heating and cooling systems, magnetic control and switching circuits, three phase systems, transformers, machines, control and switching/PLC, fire alarm systems, red seal programs, industry network, and applications of electronics.
• Test electrical equipment and components for current, voltage and OHMS.
• Responsible for all administrative, material ordering, and QAQC documents directly associated with the project at hand.
• Other duties as required.

Job Requirements

• Indentured Apprentice or Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician.
• A valid Class 5 license with a clean driver abstract.
• Valid H2S, First Aid, OSSA Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, CSO, and CSTS.
• Experience in the Oil and Gas industry in construction or maintenance is considered an asset.
• Ability to work in various working conditions ranging from outdoors to indoors in a variety of weather conditions and working from heights as needed.
• A pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required prior to employment.
