Job summary

CDN is seeking a Journeyperson Electrician for Drumheller and surrounding areas. The role involves installing and maintaining electrical systems, adhering to LOTO procedures, and performing preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.

Applicants must hold a valid Electrical Journeyperson certification and a Class 5 license with a clean driving record, plus required safety certifications (H2S, First Aid CPR/AED, Fall Protection, CSO, CSTS).

Qualifications

• Electrical Journeyperson license required.
• Valid Class 5 license with clean driver abstract.
• H2S, First Aid Level C CPR & AED, Fall Protection, CSO and CSTS certifications are required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain EMT piping systems, electronic heat trace, batteries, voltage regulators, MCC equipment, and VFDs.
• Perform LOTO procedures and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct scheduled and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Interpret drawings and circuit diagrams for installation and troubleshooting.
• Follow Canadian electrical code rules and best practices.
• Understand and apply circuits, transformers, and PLCs in projects.
• Test equipment for current, voltage, and resistance.
• Handle administrative and QA/QC documentation related to the project.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job description

CDN is a recognized industry leader in the energy services sector. CDN is a full-service provider with expertise in Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance, renewables/solar, major projects, combustion & emissions reduction, and measurement.

• Role: Journeyperson Electrician
• Location: Drumheller and surrounding areas
• Pre-Employment Condition: Pre-employment D&A test required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install and maintain EMT piping systems, electronic heat trace, batteries, voltage regulators, MCC equipment, and VFD’s.
• Ensure proper execution of electrical lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures to maintain safety and regulatory compliance.
• Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
• Assist and/or direct interpreting drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to better help execute electrical installation and troubleshooting.
• Understand and inter-operate the most current Canadian electrical code book and exercise the rules when applicable.
• Understand and execute basic circuit fundamentals, alternating current circuit properties, heating and cooling systems, magnetic control and switching circuits, three phase systems, transformers, machines, control and switching/PLC, fire alarm systems, red seal programs, industry network, and applications of electronics.
• Test electrical equipment and components for current, voltage and OHMS.
• Responsible for all administrative, material ordering, and QAQC documents directly associated with the project at hand.
• Other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

• Electrical Journeyperson.
• A valid Class 5 license with a clean driver abstract.
• Valid H2S, First Aid Level C - CPR & AED, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, CSO, and CSTS.
• Experience in the Oil and Gas industry in construction or maintenance is considered an asset.
• Ability to work in various working conditions ranging from outdoors to indoors in a variety of weather conditions and working from heights as needed.
