Job summary

CDN is seeking Journeyperson and Apprentice Electricians (3rd & 4th Year) for Fort St. John, BC. Roles cover installation, maintenance, and calibration of instrumentation systems, including RTUs and pressure/temperature transmitters.

Applicants from other locations are welcome. A valid trade ticket and safety certifications are required; the work includes varied shifts, overtime on project basis, and pre-employment testing.

Qualifications

  • Trade ticket - Apprentices or Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician.
  • A valid Class 5 license with a clean driver abstract.
  • Valid H2S, First Aid, OSSA Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, CSO, and CSTS.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas industry in construction or maintenance is asset.
  • Ability to work in various conditions and from heights as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all EHS policies and procedures as directed by the HSE department.
  • Assist with installation, maintenance, and replacement of instrumentation equipment.
  • Perform calibrations using basic and advanced test equipment such as Hart Communicators and transmitters.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and commission instrumentation systems with minimal supervision.
  • Collect QAQC documentation and support project reporting and compliance.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of gas, LEL, and fire detection systems and safety devices.
  • Work safely in extreme weather and heights, adhering to SOPs.

  • Role: Journeyperson and Apprentice Electricians (3rd & 4th Year)
  • Location: Fort St John, BC preferred. Applicants from other locations are welcome to apply
  • Shift: Varies based on project
  • Overtime: Project based
  • Pre-Employment Condition: Pre-employment D&A test required
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures as directed by the HSE department.
  • Assist with installation, maintenance, and replacement of equipment, including instrumentation tubing and advanced systems like RTUs and compressor panels.
  • Perform calibrations independently using basic and advanced test equipment such as Hart Communicators and confidently work on pressure, level, and temperature transmitters.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and commission instrumentation systems with minimal supervision; assist in ordering and putting equipment into service.
  • Collect QAQC documentation and support Project Managers with project-related reporting and compliance.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of gas, LEL, and fire detection systems, including setup and calibration of safety shutdown devices.
  • Work safely in various environments—including extreme weather and heights—while adhering to all safety protocols and SOPs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
