Electrician


Reports To: Supervisor of Electrical

Essential Functions:

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Wire equipment to ensure all electrical parts are in working order, as per specifications.

  • Panel building, machine wiring, drive programming, and machine testing.

  • Set up and perform circuit tests.

  • Provide technical assistance to engineering designers, and shop personnel.

  • Perform electrical maintenance throughout the facility as required.

  • Test electrical equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.

  • Working knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

  • Lock out tag out – an asset.

  • Other duties, as assigned.

  • Will interact effectively and regularly with:

  • Hourly operations employees including Production Leaders, Purchasing, Inventory

Education and/or Experience:

  • Post-secondary education

  • 3 or more years of previous experience in a related field

  • Experience in trouble shoot electrical control systems.

Language Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communications required. Ability to interact clearly and confidently with all levels in the organization.

Computer Skills:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office (Excel & Word)

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Electrical license (309A or 442A)
