We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Electrician is accountable to the Maintenance Supervisor for all activities involving the electrical operation, maintenance, and repair of production/manufacturing equipment as well as plant computerized building automation systems, electrical systems, and building equipment.

Internal Job Posting Grade 9.

Day Shift

Responsibilities
  1. Troubleshoots, maintains, adjusts, repairs all types of low-voltage (≤ 600V) electrical production/manufacturing equipment of various complexity and automation, including PLCs, servo drives and servo/ motion controllers, encoders, computerized production systems, interlocked safety circuitry, etc.
  2. Troubleshoots, maintains, adjusts, repairs all types of low-voltage (≤ 600V) electrical building equipment and systems having complex interlocking or inter-related circuits (i.e., generators, transformers, switchgear, controllers, VFDs, electronic circuits, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment).
  3. Uses various test instruments to diagnose problems, determine electrical load, and assess power quality.
  4. Troubleshoots, repairs, maintains electro-pneumatic HVAC and process control systems.
  5. Updates current electrical drawings for the facility and production/manufacturing equipment.
  6. Coordinates completion of electrical equipment/machinery changes/modifications as per electrical safety authority or Pre-Start-Review inspector recommendations.
  7. Coordinates and executes electrical Preventative Maintenance activities related to the facility and production/manufacturing equipment.
  8. Participates in Maintenance Shutdown activities, working independently or as part of a team on maintenance assignments.
  9. Works with users, other maintenance staff, and vendors to provide electrical and automation expertise. Evaluates the effectiveness of these systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of Septodont facilities and equipment, and for continuous improvements.
  10. Arranges for contracted services as required and supervises all work on electrical and automation systems.
  11. Recognizes and/or anticipates problems, taking necessary actions and/or notifying responsible individuals to reduce impact on production schedules.
  12. Ensures all electrical and automation work complies with respective codes.
  13. Writes, evaluates, and maintains electrical and automation Standard Operating Procedures to ensure compliance with cGMP guidelines, safety standards, and company goals.
  14. Spearheads continuous improvement initiatives in electrical systems.
  15. Supports the maintenance department in preventive maintenance and emergency repairs of plant and equipment, including being on-call as scheduled.
  16. Supports the validation department in validation projects.
  17. Assists the Engineering department in electrical work for new equipment installation and commissioning.
  18. Observes and supports all safety guidelines and regulations.
  19. Demonstrates the Company Mission, Vision, and Values, policies, and standard business practices.
  20. Follows GMP and regulatory requirements and ensures quality standards are met.
  21. Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications

Education

Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution is required. Must have an Ontario Industrial Electrician and/or Construction and Maintenance Electrical License.
