As our next Electrician, you’ll be at the forefront of working as part of Automation Group Canada, supporting the build, integration, and support of custom automation solutions within Canada and abroad. Your expertise in assembly, troubleshooting, and operational problem-solving will be crucial in driving our success and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

What You’ll Be Doing :

  • Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager and working with the Process, Manufacturing, and Engineering Teams.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Assemble electrical circuits as per approved design, including panel building and field wiring.
  • On-site installation of automated solutions.
  • On-site support for new and existing automation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic circuits.
  • Work in close conjunction with controls technicians during setup and development of PLC, robots, and vision systems.
  • Operational problem-solving and seeking out continuous improvements to the process.
  • Participate in team meetings to review and resolve quality, service, operations, facilities, human resources, and health and safety issues, when required.
  • Assist in the training and development of new members of operations.
  • Participate in 5S activities.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

What We’re Looking For :

  • Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician (442A or 309A) and relevant industrial experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in Canada is preferred.
  • Proficiency in understanding electrical / pneumatic schematic drawings.
  • Understanding of Canadian electrical code, components, and wire sizing.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic and advanced control components like PLC, panels, field I / O modules, VFDs, servo systems, etc.
  • Understanding of safety circuits and requirements, including networked safety.
  • Familiarity with controls networks (Ethernet / IP, EtherCAT, I / O link, Asi).
  • Knowledge of electrical design would be an asset.
  • Critical thinking to identify issues, present solutions, and follow through to ensure completion.
  • Commitment to meeting deadline requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
