Facilities and Engineering Management is responsible for providing effective and timely maintenance and custodial services that promote the care and preservation of Campus Facilities. This includes ensuring a safe work environment, effective risk management, and maintaining a welcoming environment that reflects standards of excellence in support of NSCC programs.

With an emphasis on energy and sustainability, the Electrician will:
- Ensure the building electrical and cabling systems operate safely and efficiently, in accordance with legislated standards.
- Perform inspections, repairs, and upgrades to electrical systems, ensuring operational proficiency and compliance with safety standards and the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
- Supervise individuals to work safely and competently.
- Coordinate with contractors to oversee work on campus.
What you'll need
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
- Inter-Provincial Journeyperson Electrical Construction Certification is required.
- Training in WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety regulations is an asset; Standard First Aid and CPR are also assets. Telecommunications Structured Cabling Certification is an asset.
- Minimum of two years of recent, relevant trade experience in electrical installation and construction projects in a facility, commercial, or industrial setting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Email, and Megamation (inventory and work order software).
- Experience in electrical maintenance duties, including preventative, scheduled, and restorative maintenance.
