Alberta Health Services is seeking a skilled Electrician for the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. Candidates should possess a Journeyperson Electrician Certificate and strong troubleshooting skills, with healthcare experience being an asset.
This position reports to the Facility Manager at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital within the Facilities Maintenance and Engineering department. The incumbent will perform a full range of journeyperson-level duties related to installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing building electrical systems, control systems, and equipment in accordance with blueprints, codes, and Alberta Health Services' standards and practices.
The role requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose electrical system problems for immediate response and repair across the campus. Interpreting diagrams, drawings, code publications, and standards is essential. The incumbent must manage record-keeping tasks and recommend improvements for electrical infrastructure.
A thorough understanding of complex electrical distribution systems is mandatory. The Electrician will assist in managing complex electrical infrastructure upgrades and repairs as needed. The primary location is at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, but the incumbent may be asked to work at other sites within the zone, including potential multi-site duties as directed by the FM&E Director or Manager.
As an Electrician, you will work in accordance with accepted codes, standards, regulations, and procedures. Under minimal supervision, you will perform a variety of highly skilled electrical maintenance and repairs of a complex nature, requiring the use of schematics, blueprints, and specialized test equipment.
