Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead design and delivery of large-scale substations across Quebec and Canada. You will collaborate with engineers, technicians, and specialists to modernize facilities and create new electrical infrastructure for public and private clients.

You will ensure design quality, reliability, and compliance while developing innovative solutions tailored to client needs. Strong CAD skills, French/English proficiency, and ASC/ASPC certification are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in design or execution of HV/substation projects.
• Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible to obtain membership.
• Strong knowledge of switchgear, transformers, protection and grounding in substations.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and ability to produce clear drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Identify client needs, define project scope, and prepare service proposals and cost estimates.
• Design and develop layouts for medium- and high-voltage substations.
• Create and review technical drawings, schematics, layouts, and equipment lists.
• Conduct electrical studies such as lightning protection and voltage drop analyses.
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers for integrated solutions.
• Support field teams during project execution and commissioning.
