Job summary

Litens Automotive Group in Canada is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and validate automotive electronic hardware from concept through production launch, including schematic design, PCB layout review, simulations, thermal analysis, and testing.

You will collaborate with software, controls, mechanical and validation teams, apply ASPICE/ISO26262 practices, and use Altium Designer and LTspice; a 3–5 year background in automotive electronics is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics engineering required.
  • Strong analog and digital circuit design knowledge.
  • Experience with automotive electronics and embedded hardware development.

  • Schematics and PCB design review and documentation using Altium Designer.

What you will do:


  • Responsible for the design, simulation, development, validation, and release of automotive electronic hardware. Supports product development activities from concept through production launch, including schematic design, PCB layout review, simulations, thermal analysis, and validation testing in accordance with automotive development processes.

  • Design and develop automotive electronic circuits for motor controllers, power electronics, sensors, and actuator applications.

  • Create and maintain schematics, PCB design requirements, and engineering documentation using Altium Designer.

  • Perform circuit simulations using LTspice to support design verification, component selection, and root cause investigations.

  • Conduct thermal analysis, power dissipation calculations, and design reviews to ensure compliance with product requirements.

  • Perform Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA) using Mathcad and engineering calculations.

  • Support component selection, derating analysis, tolerance analysis, and BOM optimization.

  • Develop and execute hardware validation plans, including electrical, thermal, EMC/EMI, and environmental testing.

  • Analyze validation results and support troubleshooting activities during development and testing.

  • Participate in DFMEA, Design Reviews, APQP activities, and technical risk assessments.

  • Collaborate with software, controls, mechanical, validation, and manufacturing teams to resolve design issues.

  • Support supplier technical reviews, quotation activities, and engineering feasibility assessments.

  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and customer-facing engineering documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable automotive standards, internal processes, and ASPICE development requirements.


What you will bring:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.

  • Master's degree is considered an asset.

  • Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design.

  • Experience with automotive electronics and embedded hardware development.

  • Proficiency in Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB design support.

  • Experience using LTspice for circuit simulation and design verification.

  • Experience performing WCCA, tolerance analysis, and engineering calculations using Mathcad.

  • Knowledge of thermal analysis techniques and power device thermal management.

  • Understanding of power electronics components including MOSFETs, gate drivers, current sensing, and protection circuits.

  • Familiarity with EMC/EMI design practices and automotive validation requirements.

  • Working knowledge of automotive communication interfaces such as CAN, LIN, and SPI.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • 3-5 years of experience in automotive electronics, power electronics, or embedded hardware development.

  • Experience with schematic design, PCB development, prototype bring-up, and debugging.

  • Experience supporting EMC, environmental, and electrical validation testing.

  • Familiarity with DFMEA, APQP, and design release processes.

  • Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262, or automotive development processes is considered an asset.


Additional Information:


  • Compensation: $ 110,000 to $ 125,000 annually
