Job summary

Adecco Canada is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to drive hardware design, analysis, verification, and product development in highly regulated industries.

You will lead mixed-signal and power electronics, mentor teams, and collaborate with customers and stakeholders from concept through production.

This role requires security clearance per CGP and residency in Canada; aerospace/defense experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of electronics design experience in aerospace or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with low-power digital circuits and analog interfaces.
  • Familiarity with DOORS or requirements management is beneficial.

  • Lead and perform hardware design, analysis, integration, and verification.
  • Design and analyze mixed-signal, digital, analog, and power supply circuits.
  • Develop low-power electronic systems and microprocessor-based designs.
  • Conduct trade studies to support concept selection and product architecture.

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Lead Electrical Engineer for an exciting opportunity with a leading advanced technology organization. This role is ideal for an experienced electronics engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, leading product development activities, and delivering innovative hardware solutions in highly regulated industries.

This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge electronic systems while leading design, analysis, verification, testing, and product development activities. In this role you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, customers, and stakeholders to develop high-quality hardware solutions from concept through production.

*This role requires security clearance as per CGP which would be open to Permanent Residents and Canadian Citizens.

  • Pay Rate: $70.00/hour

Responsibilities:
Hardware Design & Development
  • Lead and perform product-level hardware design, analysis, integration, and verification activities.

  • Design and analyze mixed-signal, digital, analog, and power supply circuits.

  • Develop low-power electronic systems and microprocessor-based designs.

  • Conduct trade studies to support concept selection, technology evaluation, and product architecture development.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation and design requirements.

  • Develop low-level requirements and manage requirement changes using DOORS.

  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure technical requirements and development processes are followed.

Testing, Validation & Troubleshooting
  • Develop test procedures and support hardware verification and validation activities.

  • Coordinate and participate in testing, qualification, and troubleshooting efforts.

  • Analyze hardware failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.

  • Perform circuit analysis, modeling, simulation, and validation activities prior to production release.

  • Support manufacturing, integration, and production teams with technical expertise.

Technical Leadership
  • Lead and mentor hardware development teams on complex engineering projects.

  • Act as the primary technical contact for internal stakeholders and customers.

  • Present technical solutions, design reviews, engineering assessments, and project updates.

  • Support project planning, scheduling, estimating, status reporting, and metrics collection.

  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure successful program execution.

Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve designs, processes, quality, and reliability.

  • Support Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) initiatives.

  • Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement activities throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Support EMC/EMI mitigation and compliance activities.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of electronics design experience within aerospace or another highly regulated industry such as:

    • Aerospace

    • Defense

    • Rail

    • Nuclear

    • Industrial Controls

  • Strong understanding of electronics design principles and engineering best practices.

  • Experience designing low-power digital electronic circuits.

  • Strong knowledge of low-frequency analog interface design.

  • Experience using industry-standard ECAD tools (Mentor Graphics preferred).

  • Understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) methodologies.

  • Familiarity with EMC/EMI requirements and qualification standards.

  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and technical presentation abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Experience with Printed Wiring Boards (PWB/PCB) is considered a strong asset.

  • FPGA design experience and/or complex analog circuit design experience is considered a strong asset.

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
