Job summary

Modine’s Scott Springfield division seeks an Electrical Assembler to join the Production team in Calgary. You will assist in installing electrical components into HVAC units, wire termination, and panel building while ensuring safety and quality standards.

This day shift role runs 6:00am–2:30pm, Monday–Friday, at 2234 Portland St SE, Calgary, Alberta. You will read drawings, follow BOMs, use hand and power tools, and contribute to continuous improvement in a loud manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education or equivalent required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a loud environment.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and follow BOMs.
• Good hand-eye coordination and tool use skills.
• Willingness to work OT and in various facility areas.

Position Description

Scott Springfield by Modine is tier-1 supplier that offers scalable air handling solutions for commercial and industrial customers across North America. This is a Day Shift Positionfrom 6:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday

This role will be based at our 2234 Portland St SE location in Calgary Alberta.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the installation of electrical components into HVAC units by:

• Mount electrical components, route cables, and wire termination of components.
• Review electrical drawings, cut sheets, and termination sheets to ensure all electrical connections are secure and correctly installed.
• Detail oriented and knows to follow part and component details
• Monitor production schedule and report anything that may impact schedule either in a positive or negative way
• Request parts from warehouse
• Build panels, terminate wiring in panels and print wire tags for electrical department
• Ensure quality standards and procedures are met and followed
• Ensure safety policies are met and followed
• Support continuous improvement efforts
• Perform continuity checks on panels
• Maintain tools, and tool PM sheets
• Employee is responsible to perform the above mentioned, and any other tasks assigned to them in a safe manner and in accordance with our Health & Safety Policies, JHA’s & SWP’s.
• Employee is responsible to understand and follow all Company Policies and Rules.

Required Education & Qualifications

• Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must demonstrate organizational skills and be able to work independently.
• Must exhibit safe work practices.
• Must be willing to work in other areas of our facility as required.
• Must be able work OT on weekdays and weekends when required.
• Previous experience in manufacturing environment an asset
• Must be able to communicate effectively with Co-Workers, Team Leads, Supervisors, Engineering, Quality and Health & Safety.
• Comfortable working in loud environments (hearing protection required).
• Steel toed boots (CSA Approved 6' in height or greater) required.
• General understanding of engineering and sheet metal principles.
• Ability to use various hand & power tools (drills, grinders, chop saws, band saws, measuring tape, etc.).
• Good hand eye coordination.
• Capacity to learn and follow electrical drawings, wiring schematics and bill of materials
• Ability to plan and execute jobs successfully.
• Experience bending and install rigid and EMT pipe as well as calculating pipe fill and wire size is an asset.
• Ability to mount panels, VFDs, filters and devices and install instrumental tubing and devices.
• Experience prepping and installing lights as well as pulling and terminating wire.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
• Understanding of engineering and electrical principles.
• Experience or knowledge of HVAC will be considered an asset
• Safety Requirement – Respirator Use:
  This position may involve tasks requiring the use of a respirator. In accordance with occupational health and safety standards, all employees must beclean-shavenwhere the respirator seals to the face to ensure proper fit and protection. Compliance with this requirement is mandatory for employment in this role.
