Our partnered client, a well-established & growing construction and industrial services company based near Welland, Ontario, is currently seeking an HR Generalist. Our team is known for its hands-on, hard-working culture and commitment to safety, compliance, and community values. As the business grows, they are seeking an HR professional to manage all aspects of HR, including recruitment strategies for seasonal workforce and a strong focus on Health & Safety.

Reporting directly to the Director, this is a key role that would be ideal for a mature, self-directed professional who brings a strong sense of ownership and thrives in an autonomous, rural setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle HR functions, including onboarding, policy enforcement, and compliance.
• Lead seasonal recruitment efforts (March-May), with a specific focus on labourer roles.
• Oversee employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
• Administer H&S policies and programs; lead WSIB excellence initiatives.
• Collaborate with third-party legal for union matters as they arise.
• Support and enhance onboarding software and dispatch systems.
• Maintain accurate HR records and compliance documentation.
• Plan employee team events.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as an HR Generalist or in a standalone HR-focused role.
• CHRP or CHRL designation, or currently in the process of obtaining it.
• Experience managing HR and Health & Safety programs.
• A mature, self-motivated individual who takes initiative without constant oversight.
• Strong working knowledge of Ontario labour laws and compliance practices.
• Valid G-class driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle, as there is no public transit near the location.
• Background in construction, manufacturing, or industrial services (an added bonus).
• Experience with seasonal workforce planning.
